Answers Magazine Sells Out in U.S.

The current issue of the extremely popular Answers magazine has sold out in the United States! No more copies are available except in Europe and other scattered locations. For this reason, Answers In Genesis is now putting the entire content of this issue up for free online!

Here is a link to an especially relevant article. It is entitled "Is It Time for a New Reformation?" The obvious answer is, Yes! The article explains:

Take one look around our world. A need for a new reformation is evident, both for our culture and for the church. We must return to the Bible as our absolute authority.

Another good yet succinct article is, "You Can Make a Difference." The author gives a nice punch in favor of being active for the LORD. We can all be "little Luthers!"

Please check it out!

Nehemiah 4

But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews. And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned? Now Tobiah the Ammonite was by him, and he said, Even that which they build, if a fox go up, he shall even break down their stone wall.

Hear, O our God; for we are despised: and turn their reproach upon their own head, and give them for a prey in the land of captivity: And cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before thee: for they have provoked thee to anger before the builders. So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.

But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth, And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it. Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them. And Judah said, The strength of the bearers of burdens is decayed, and there is much rubbish; so that we are not able to build the wall. And our adversaries said, They shall not know, neither see, till we come in the midst among them, and slay them, and cause the work to cease. And it came to pass, that when the Jews which dwelt by them came, they said unto us ten times, From all places whence ye shall return unto us they will be upon you. Therefore set I in the lower places behind the wall, and on the higher places, I even set the people after their families with their swords, their spears, and their bows.

And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses. And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought, that we returned all of us to the wall, every one unto his work.

And it came to pass from that time forth, that the half of my servants wrought in the work, and the other half of them held both the spears, the shields, and the bows, and the habergeons; and the rulers were behind all the house of Judah. They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon. For the builders, every one had his sword girded by his side, and so builded. And he that sounded the trumpet was by me.

And I said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, The work is great and large, and we are separated upon the wall, one far from another. In what place therefore ye hear the sound of the trumpet, resort ye thither unto us: our God shall fight for us. So we laboured in the work: and half of them held the spears from the rising of the morning till the stars appeared.

Likewise at the same time said I unto the people, Let every one with his servant lodge within Jerusalem, that in the night they may be a guard to us, and labour on the day. So neither I, nor my brethren, nor my servants, nor the men of the guard which followed me, none of us put off our clothes, saving that every one put them off for washing.

The First Presidential Blimp?

Just think what could happen with a blimp for Ron Paul...

Liberty Political Advertising, with our help, is creating the first blimp to feature a message favoring a Presidential candidate. Please buy shares of time for the blimp here. The original goal of $200,000 was met this afternoon, but that is just the beginning. The blimp costs $350,000 per month, and it needs to fly for at least two months in order to be around for all the early primaries.

The Paulite Airship will launch on December 10 from Elizabeth City on the east coast of North Carolina. It will fly over Washington, DC, the various Federal Reserve Branches on its' route, and Wall Street, ending out at Boston for the TeaParty07 on December 16. It will then head over to New Hampshire and move around there for some time. Finally, it will come towards South Carolina in time for the primary on the nineteenth of January. If they have enough money, they will also go to Disney World in Florida. Of course, they could just be propelled and continue on straight through next November touring America depending on how much we do!

Huckabee is not the answer...

Here is a list describing Mike Huckabee's somewhat poor record on fiscal conservatism. While Mike Huckabee is supported by many evangelicals under the belief that he is a proponent of Reaganomics, he is not.

  • Signed a sales tax hike in 1996 (Cato Policy Analysis No. 315, 09/03/98).
  • Supported an internet sales tax in 2001 (Reuters, 02/23/04).
  • Publicly opposed the repeal of a sales tax on groceries and medicine in 2002 (Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, 09/11/02).
  • Signed a gas tax in 1999 (Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, 06/29/99)
  • Signed cigarette tax hike in 2003 (Americans for Tax Reform 01/07/07)
  • Signed a bed tax on private nursing home patients in 2001 (Associated Press 06/29/01).
  • Proposed a sales take hike in 2002 (Arkansas News Bureau 12/05/02).
  • Opposed a congressional measure to ban internet taxes in 2003 (Arkansas News Bureau 11/21/03).
  • Allowed a 17% sales tax increase to become law in 2004 (The Gurdon Times 03/02/04).
According to the [Arkansas] Democrat-Gazette, “the average Arkansan’s tax burden grew from $1,969 in the fiscal year that ended June 30, 1997, to $2,902 in the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2005, including local taxes,” a whopping tax increase of 47% under Huckabee’s tenure. Tax legislation passed while Huckabee was governor totaled “a net tax increase of $505 million, a figure adjusted for inflation and economic growth,” according to the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration.

"Mike Huckabee raised more taxes in 10 years in office than Bill Clinton did in his 12 years."

YCLA web update

We will be conducting some renovations on the YoungChristianLeaders.org site so it will be down for a couple weeks. We want to re-do it in such a way that it will be friendly and open, but also thought-provoking and authoritative.

Our target audience with the YCLA is more than likely going to be sharpened towards, for instance, home-schooling families, rather than including a huge array of people who will not be interested anyway.

Another possible target group could be those in small churches or house-churches. These people would be more anxious to associate with others of like mind. In many cases, they are also more in tune than some to Biblical issues, activism, creativity, and so on.

This Worldviews Revolution site has increased dramatically in the average amount of time readers spend here. It is my understanding from this fact that the site is now more readable after the makeover. Good! The average daily visitors have also increased by about a third. Finally, it looks like from the Sitemeter that Google searches account for almost half of our visits in the past week! How does that work? I re-design the site and suddenly Google sends me a whole bunch of traffic! Wow; these little coincidences...

My recent article on What Is A Biblical Worldview? has gotten some good attention as well.

In conclusion, please continue to pray for us and the YCLA. We need to keep working and THINKING if we are to get anywhere. It has been hard recently to be very creative, since we have been so busy with all our little problems. That's life - and this is not Walgreens LOL - but we can lead by example in every place we are, if nothing else. As our Pledge says:

"As a member of the YCLA, I shall ultimately strive to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to promote the Biblical worldview, to restore liberty by the keeping of the just laws of God, to actively support those groups which have the aforementioned goals, and to lead not only fellow members of the YCLA, but also others I influence, to pursue the same objects."

God bless!
